I’m a writer living in Leeds. After working in China, Japan and Italy I came back to Yorkshire to do a PhD on classical Chinese ghost stories, and never left. I won the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize in 2019 for my novel The Cautious Traveller’s Guide to the Wastelands, and a Northern Debut Award from New Writing North in 2021. The novel will be published in 2024 by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in the UK, and Flatiron in the US.
